[IF Comp 2018] the anticipation

(distracted from work, obsessively refreshing ifcomp.org …)

Ah, there it is!

77 games this year. Whew. The first time I judged IF Comp (ten years ago!), there were 24, and I didn’t make it through all of them in the judging period. Even if I didn’t have a toddler running around my house, I’d put my odds of playing all the games this year at slim to none. Said toddler takes the “slim to” out of that.

Still, I’m very excited to get to the end of my work day and dive in! As of right now, I’m planning to play games in my randomly-generated order, though I reserve the right to stop playing a game very early if it’s not holding my attention. I’ll also do my best to review everything I do play – my success rate on that has generally been about 90%, so we’ll see how that goes, too.

Whee!
